From St. James to Santiago

What happens when you turn a personal challenge into a project to also give something back?

Hey,

I'm Pedro, a 50-year-old who's made a New Year's resolution that goes beyond simply dropping those extra pounds I've carried for the last 10-15 years. This year, I'm committing to a journey that will test my limits and transform my life — cycling from London to Santiago de Compostela, arriving in time to celebrate my 51st birthday on 10 June 2027.

With a year and a half to prepare, this isn't just about personal transformation or proving it's never too late to change bad habits. It's about making a real difference along the way

This epic cycling adventure will push me past every comfort zone, scale countless heights, and cover hundreds of miles across 2 countries. But the destination is more than a personal milestone — it's a mission to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust.

Armed with nothing but determination, my sturdy 20 y.o. Specialized FSR XC Comp bike, and a heart full of purpose, I'm inviting friends, family, and community to join in. Every mile I pedal represents not just physical strides toward Santiago, but crucial funding for these organisations that touch so many lives.

The preparation begins now. The training, the planning, the small victories and setbacks — it's all part of the story. Follow along as I work toward this goal, cheer on the effort, and discover how one person's decision to challenge themselves can ripple out to uplift others, inspire change, and fuel hope where it's needed most.

Ready to join the ride? Let’s make every turn of the wheel count.

The clock is ticking - Santiago awaits!
